WARNING : Don't perform any of the below mentioned steps if you need jailbreak and is totally dependent on hardware unlock techniques. this update is not for you. updating to iOS 8 will update the baseband (Modem Firmware) ruining the chances to get an unlock in the future. same warning for jailbreakers. you have to live without jailbreak for next couple of months.

Step 2 : Connect your iDevice via USB and run iTunes.

Step 3 : You will be prompted for the update if your iTunes recognizes that new update is available. click on "Download & Update" OR "Download Only" buttons accordingly.

Step 4 : if iTunes does not prompt you, select your device under Devices section and be on the Summary tab. click on "Check for Update" button and iTunes will prompt you for the update.

How To Update iOS 8 Through OTA Updates (Over-The-Air Updates)

NOTE : if you don't get any OTA update on your device then wait patiently and keep trying. Apple rolls out the update to the millions of devices at once so expect few delays.

This is for iOS 5, iOS 6 & iOS 7 users only. Please note that you shouldn't do this if your device is currently jailbroken on any iOS 5, iOS 6 or iOS 7 version. it simply won't work as OTA updates are broken on jailbroken devices.

Step 1 : Launch Settings app from your HomeScreen

Step 2 : Go To General>Software Update

Step 3 : Make sure you are connected to a Wi-Fi network and not EDGE/3G/4G. OTA updates only works on Wi-Fi.

Step 4 : Once the new update is detected, tap on "Download & Install" button and agree to Terms & Conditions if prompted.

Step 5 : your device will reboot after the successful download & update.

NOTE : Those who do not wish to download complete iOS 8 firmware on iTunes, we have direct links for you straight from Apple servers. be sure to backup your device on iTunes first.(use Shift+Update OR Shift+Restore method to restore these firmware files on iTunes)
