Kali Linux and Windows Dual Boot

Disclaimer: wala akong kinalaman sa kung anong mangyari sa laptop nyo. kayo may hawak nyan. guide lang ako.

Needs for this:

• Laptop / pc
• Flash drive
• Commonsense
• Internet Connection

Start:
Step 1: gawa muna ng Bootable flash drive na ang laman is Kali Linux
needed:
universal USB installer
https://www.pendrivelinux.com/downloads/Universal-USB-Installer/Universal-USB-Installer-1.9.6.4.exe

Kali Linux ISO (google mo lalabas agad yan)
FlashDrive (At least 4gb)

1. Open Universal usb installer
2. Select "i Agree" >> "Create"
3. Dun sa "Select a Linux distribution ...." hanapin nyo si kali Linux.
4. Select nyo naman yung sa ISO image tapos locate nyo yung iso file nyo.
5. Select Drive letter then check nyo yung format as FAT32 then press create
6. Done for this step.

Step 2: Need nyo gumawa ng bagong partion sa harddisk drive nyo. (Tandaan kung ilang gb ang ginawa nyo)

1. Right click lang si " My Computer or This PC" then select manage.
2. Select Disk management
3. Select right click mo yung drive then select shrink then lagay mo yung partition size na gusto mo. atleast mga 50 gb para mas okay sa data storage.
4. Right click mo yung naka unallocate yung kilay itim then select new partition.
5. restart and proceed to step 3

Step 3: install kali linux

1. set nyo as 1st boot yung flashdrive mo sa bois or f10.
2. pagdating sa kali linux boot menu select "Graphical install"

Select language

• country, territory or area
• Country to base...
• keymap use
• Continue.

3.4:
Hostname (Yung name na gusto nyo para kay kali nyo) then continue

• Root Password (Tandaan nyo to) then Continue.

3.5:

• Partition Disks
• Manual
• select nyo na partition na ginawa nyo
• continue
• Delete the partition
• Continue
• reselect nyo ulit sya.

3.5.1:

• Create nyo partition
• 3gb lagay nyo
• Logical
• Beginning
• Use as: "swap area"
• Done

3.5.2:

• Create nyo partition
• 15gb lagay nyo
• Beginning
• Use as: "Ext4 journaling file system"
• Mount point: " /-the root file system"
• Done

3.5.3:

• Create nyo partition
• lahat nang gb na natira wag nyo na baguhin
• Beginning
• Use as: "Ext4 journaling file system"
• Mount point: " /home- user home directories"
• Done

3.5.4: Finish partitioning and write changes to disk >> press enter >> yes >> Continue
3.6: Configure the package manager >> yes >> yes
3.7: install the GRUB Boot Loader >> yes
3.8: Finish the installation >> Continue

Step 4: sa GNU GRUB menu select nyo yung linux then mapupunta na kayo sa login approval ng linux
// ang default username ng linux is "root"
password nya is yung linagay nyo kanina sa Root Password

4.1: Open Terminal type the following commands.

apt-get update
nano /etc/apt/sources.list

may lalabas na file jan. edit nyo
dagdag nyo sa pinaka baba is "deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali non-free contrib"

press Ctrl+x then press y

apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade
apt-get install synaptic
apt-get install software-center

4.2: Goto Files >> Other Location >> Computer >> Boot >> grub >> open nyo grub.cnf
4.3: edit nyo grub.cnf

hanapin at burahin ang kasama nila menuentry sa memory test, kali recovery, at advance options. burahin ang mga ito.

Yung tatanggalin lang na portion is yung sa memory test, kali recovery at advance option. Kasama yung mga codes nila huh. Wag isasama ang kali linux at windows.

RESTART
