Alam na halos ng lahat na tinaningan na ang buhay ng Windows 7 (sa mga hindi pa nakakaalam, by the first quarter of 2020, wala nang supporting updates na matatanggap ang Windows 7 mula sa Microsoft). Although most of the laptop units nowadays use Windows 10, especially the newer ones, pero 'wag nating ideny, Windows 7 had us on its prime.
Going straight to the point, may crucial effect ba talaga ang 'end of support' ng Windows 7?
DISCLAIMER: If you are a solid Windows 10 user, then this one ain't for you. Skip ads na.
Similar to what happened to Windows XP and its predecessors, end of support for Windows 7 obviously marks the beginning of its obsoleteness. Sa tagalog, umpisa na ito ng katapusan ng maliligayang araw ng Windows 7 (see that oxymoron there? Get it? Hehe).
BUT IT DOESN'T MEAN NA HINDI MO NA MAGAGAMIT ANG COMPUTER UNIT MO KAPAG NAKA-WINDOWS 7 KA, PERO... ano nga ba ang dapat gawin ng isang Windows 7 user ngayon? Dalawa lang:
1. Migrate to Windows 10 (we ain't considering Windows 8, for obvious reasons. Duh.)
2. Kapit lang kay Windows 7...
Option 1 definitely is the best option. You may still go with option 2, but it has a toll:
Ano-ano ang downsides kapag nanatili ka sa Windows 7?
1. Vurnerability. Wala nang security updates ang Microsoft, hence, increasing your risk of getting threats that are yet to be developed. Payag ka, safe si Windows 10 pero ikaw na naka-Windows 7, hindi?
2. No backward compatibility. Although karamihan sa mga applications ngayon ay compatible pa rin sa Windows 7, but time will come when apps won't support it anymore. No more planpromatrix version 99999 lol.
3. Hardware compatibility. Same with number 2, but this one goes with the whole hardware stuff of your computer.
If those ain't enough to convince you to migrate, then here's the thing for you:
"Gusto ko magstay sa Windows 7" starter pack
- for all of the applications that you are using, secure the latest version compatible to Windows 7. That way, mapoprolong mo ang effect ng absence of backward compatibility.
- iwas na sa kakadownload via torrent (and other unsafe downloading methods). Dyan kadalasang nagmumula ang karamihan sa mga malware nowadays.
- if your unit is really built for Windows 7 only, consider investing on compatible upgrades for your unit (HDD/SSD and RAM at most cases).
- self-awareness and adaption. Time will come where everyone will cloud you with their Windows 10-equipped units.
- SEEK FOR A PROFESSIONAL MAINTENANCE PROGRAM. Para uupo ka na lang at gagamit ng payapa ang unit mo.
